Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she performed with Cozz on the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video then released in September. On November 9, she released two additional singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The song was followed by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
