Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best well-known for her character of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won the Emmy Award. Her roles are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. She grew up in a family which included four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming a court reporter. Her modeling career began at the age of 14 and later landed commercials when she moved from the south of England to New York. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent on All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies and dramas after that. Her personal life unlike her professional one has nt had a happy and successful. She has also experienced two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcohol addiction. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
